Class, Marjorie from Heartland Food Network asked me to forward this note on to all of you:
Greetings all,
It's time, once again, for the monthly Local Foods Happy Hour!
We are inviting all lovers, supporters, and advocates of a vibrant local food system to come together on a monthly basis to get to know one another and celebrate at local food eateries. Much local food work has been done in recent years; however, there are plenty of opportunities that we have yet to even dream of. What better way to do so than with one another, over food and drinks, after a long day?
The atmosphere is totally informal, so come, enjoy, inspire and be inspired about one another's hopes and visions about Minnesota's local food and our rural/urban landscape.
We meet at 5pm the first Tuesday of every month at Chang Bang restaurant in the Midtown Global Market. Chang Bang, a sister restaurant to Yummy on Nicollet Ave., is a new pan Asian restaurant and bar with great atmosphere, fantastic food, and wonderful happy hour specials. Chef Chang Vang gathers much of his summer produce from local Hmong farmers. If you're not in the mood for Asian food, the market offers dozens of alternatives from nearly every corner of the globe, all provided by locally owned businesses. Come join us after work or whenever you can .
-- we'll have plenty of space reserved.
The first two happy hours have been a great success, attracting people with all sorts of interests around local foods. In addition to the usual informal socializing and networking, the next happy hour will include opportunities to share your ideas for future gatherings and meetsome new folks.
Please spread the word and bring a friend or two.
Wishing you well and hoping to see you soon,
-Your local agriculture-minded friends
