Telling Us What We Already Know

It's not genes, but the terrible large-portioned food we consume that's at the heart of our obesity problem. Unnutritious, calorie-laden foods plague our meals as excercise simultaneous declines. Mass production foods aren't just bad for the environment, but bad for people as well.

What's ridiculous about this? We know this. We've been taught this for such a long time. Every nutrition class, or health class we take is filled with the reasons the McDonald's is the devil, and we need to obey the pyramid and excersize daily. What do we do? We go for the quickest route, without considering our health or the environment. These companies are incredibly powerful, and we as consumers, give them all of this power.

I've become truly tired of the continuous blame of "Big Business". We are, put simply, a pathetic society that refuses to accept any responsibility for our own irresponsible actions. If your an obese adult, aside from any medical reasons, it's your own fault. Lose weight or quit whining. If your a parent of an obese child, then your deserve to be beaten and thrown in jail for child abuse. If you can't wrestle the Big Mac out of the hands of a six year old, then you definately have a problem. Besides, why does that six year old have a Big Mac in the first plac!!!
