i found this article about how a very littl amount of imported foods are inspected, yet there are regularily amounts of food removed from salde due to contaminations, it talks about the growing number of different products like catfish and green beans mainly from china being contaminated or unsafe, being confiscated by the food and drug administration at the border coming in, it really amazes me that things like this continuouisly go on and we never really aknowledge it because of the lack of information we are provided with
